DonutSMP Spider Spawner Calculator

Estimate string per minute, hour and day for any spawner count - with DonutSMP's diminishing returns built in.

Spider spawners turn AFK time into string - a quietly useful drop that feeds wool crafting, scaffolding, and bows. String's unit price is modest, so spider farms are a volume play.

Enter your spider spawner count below to estimate string per minute, per hour, and per day. The numbers apply the diminishing-returns curve measured on DonutSMP skeleton spawners (credit: 3706) as an approximation - DonutSMP throttles all stacked spawners identically, but spider drop yields were not separately measured.

How to use the spider spawner calculator

  1. Enter your spawner count. Type the number of spider spawners in your farm into the calculator - from a single spawner up to a full warehouse.
  2. Read the production estimate. The calculator applies DonutSMP's diminishing-returns spawner curve and shows the estimated string per minute, per hour, and per day.
  3. Check the income estimate. When recent string price data is available, the calculator also multiplies production by the latest average auction price to estimate income per hour and per day.

About the production curve

The formula behind this calculator was fitted by DonutSMP community member 3706 from real measurements of skeleton spawners: bones collected per minute across a range of spawner counts. It captures DonutSMP's diminishing returns - each additional spawner adds less than the one before it. DonutSMP applies the same stacking throttle to every spawner type, so this page applies the same curve to spider spawners as an approximation - per-mob drop yields were not separately measured, so treat the numbers as estimates.

What string are used for

String crafts into wool (a shortcut past sheep farms), scaffolding, bows, and fishing rods, giving it steady low-level demand across builders and grinders alike.

Frequently asked questions

How many string does a spider spawner produce on DonutSMP?

Production does not scale linearly on DonutSMP: a handful of spawners each produce roughly two drops per minute, but the server throttles output as you stack more, so per-spawner yield keeps falling. Enter your exact spawner count in the calculator above - it applies the diminishing-returns curve community member 3706 measured on DonutSMP skeleton spawners, applied to spider spawners as an approximation and shows estimated string per minute, hour, and day.

Do spawners have diminishing returns on DonutSMP?

Yes. The more spawners you run, the less each individual spawner produces. The curve used by this calculator was fitted from real measurements on DonutSMP (credit: 3706): per-spawner output starts near two drops per minute and decays toward roughly 0.064 drops per minute per spawner at very large counts. That is why doubling your spawners does not double your income.

How much money do spider spawners make per hour on DonutSMP?

That depends on the current auction price of string. When recent price data is available, this page multiplies the estimated string per hour by the latest average string price recorded by our DonutSMP price tracker and shows the result next to the production numbers. Prices move constantly, so treat it as a snapshot and check the live string price page before you commit to a build.

What is string used for on DonutSMP?

String crafts directly into wool, scaffolding, bows, fishing rods, and leads - so builders and grinders consume it constantly even though its unit price is low. A spider spawner farm is therefore a volume business: use the calculator to estimate hourly string output, then multiply against the live string price to judge whether the volume pays.
